With the changing of the seasons, the leaves begin to fall, and the temperatures begin to drop. The sounds of the wind blowing, leaves rustling, and fire crackling enhance this beautiful time of the year. During this time, we also tend to start to prepare for family gatherings.
Seeing loved ones is great, but family gatherings can be difficult for someone with a hearing loss. Multiple people talking at once in the same room can overwhelm someone who was “just getting by” and decrease their ability to understand the conversation.
Plan to hear for the holidays this year. Be the center of the conversation at the Thanksgiving dinner table and hear the little ones’ stories. If you have a hearing problem, start with a hearing test by an audiologist. If you have a hearing loss, get hearing aids. You are worth it!
