Emily Johnson, AuD, CCC-A

Doctor of Audiology

I’m an Illinois native and grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. I got my Bachelor of Science from Purdue University and my Doctor of Audiology degree from Rush University.

I actually got into the world of hearing care thanks to my mom! I knew that I wanted a career in healthcare but wasn’t sure which route to go. She encouraged me to check out speech, language, and hearing services; I realized very quickly that it’s the perfect career path for me.

I see many hearing aid, tinnitus, and central auditory processing disorder patients each day, and I also take earmold impressions for musicians’ hearing monitors and protection. Behind the scenes, I’m in charge of marketing and outreach for the office and do my best to support my coworkers.

My mom’s advice still holds true: I love my work and feel extremely fulfilled in my current position. I love all aspects of my role and my team.

Outside of work, I like to spend time with my husband (who is also an audiologist!) and our son.

If you could have dinner with one person, who would you choose?

My grandma, who passed away when I was in high school.

What is your favorite sports team?

Chicago Bears.

What is your favorite food?

Pizza.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Spain!

What’s your all-time favorite TV show/series?
