Jennifer Edgren
Patient Care Coordinator
I grew up in Woodridge and went to Downers Grove South. I got my BS in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Illinois State University, and my MS in Gerontology from the University of Utah.
I wanted to help older adults find ways to stay engaged with their loved ones; when a hearing loss is noticed, it’s often ignored, or treatment is procrastinated for several years. Losing that auditory stimulation and brain connection can be more detrimental to your health than you realize, so I wanted to help people recognize that and seek out treatment sooner.
I handle clinic communications, check patients in and out of appointments, coordinate device orders and scheduling appointments, and ensure overall upkeep of the clinic. I love knowing that I’m making a difference, and it’s refreshing to work somewhere that people remember you when they come through the door.
When I feel like being a homebody I love playing video games, reading, crafting, listening to music, and watching TV. For more adventurous days, I go out to watch musicals, enjoy concerts, or cheer at sporting events.
If you could have dinner with one person, who would you choose?
I would have dinner with my great-grandpa. The stories from his life sound both interesting and mysterious.
What is your favorite sports team?
My favorite team would probably be the New Orleans Saints. My favorite Chicago team would be the Fire.
What is your favorite food?
I never turn down Chinese food!
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would love to visit the international Disney parks.
What’s your all-time favorite TV show/series?
How I Met Your Mother.
